The new highway bridge over the river and trail. Digital picture by Kenyon F. Karl on June 11, 1998.
The rail-trail departs from the historic railroad bed to pass under the highway alongside the river. What looks like a gravel road along side the northwest corner of the bridge provides access to Routes 11 & 103.
The Community Transportation Services bus will stop on signal on Route 11 & 103. The Claremont-Newport route offers 5 round-trips between Newport and Claremont along Route 11 & 103 on weekdays only. Bicycles are not accommodated on this bus.
No other trail facilities were observed in this area.
Sign images are from the Manual of Traffic Signs by Richard C. Moeur.
