USGS Topographic map of West Swanzey
Christian Hill Road Overpass. Digital photograph by Kenyon F. Karl on July 6, 1998.
Spot checks at all of the crossroads near West Swanzey Station on May 19 and July 6, 1998 suggest that this portion of the trail is open for public use.
The Thompson Bridge (Covered Bridge #5) is about a half-mile west of the site of the West Swanzey Depot via Christian Hill Road.
Joseph and Mary Dickinson Memorial Forest is a 71 acre tract of land that is protected by the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests that is adjacent to the west side of the Rail-trail north of the West Swanzey settlement. The entrance is immediately adjacent to the Rail-trail at the point where the previously adjacent Pine Street makes a sharp turn to the north about 0.4 mile north of the West Swanzey Station. Bikes are not allowed past the entrance. [adapted from SPNHF Lands Map & Guide, 3rd edition 8/98, #14]
The Stratton Free Library is located on Main St., presumably between the Christian Hill Overpass and the covered bridge.
