The rail-trail crosses the Farmington Town Line and continues alongside Route 11 to its formal end at the entrance to the Textron factory. Note that the railroad bed is posted as private property as it crosses the grounds of the factory. Indeed, some of the factory buildings are built over the abandoned railroad bed. 'Street legal' trail users can easily bypass the factory grounds by using the breakdown lanes of the adjacent highway.

The rail-trail resumes on an informal basis northwest of Paulson Road (Textron Shipping Entrance) and continues parallel to Route 11 to a driveway across from the rear of the Rite Aid Pharmacy. The rail-trail then crosses the highway to run along the bed of an industrial siding along the north wall of the pharmacy building to the final end of the informal trail extension at Tappan Street.

Note that the Webmaster speculates that the Farmington Depot might have been located on the grounds of what is now the Rite Aid Pharmacy and adjacent State Liquor Store.

FoodRest RoomDrinking waterTelephone A convenience store & gas station as well as a restaurant are located at the intersection of Meetinghouse Hill Road and Route 11. Restaurant hours are 6am to 8pm Mon-Sat and 7am to 2pm on Sunday. Toilets and water are presumably available in the restaurant upon request. A telephone outside on the west wall of the second gas station (pink building).

The city bus stop is the only trail facility available at the formal end of the trail at the Textron factory entrance.

Telephone The Rite Aid Pharmacy at the end of the informal trail extension offers limited groceries and sodas. The pharmacy is open 8am to 9 pm Mon-Sat and 9am to 5pm Sunday. A telephone is outside near the entrance to the pharmacy. Limited parking should be available on an informal basis at the Pharmacy parking lot, if cars are parked in a manner that does not inconvenience store patrons.

COAST Route 6 (Farmington - Rochester) bus stops on weekdays along the highway that parallels the rail-trail. Scheduled stops near the rail-trail include:

Note that the current busses will not accommodate bicycles or skis, but bike racks will be installed on the new busses when they finally arrive.
