The location of the Antrim Depot was identified by the 1984 edition of the New Hampshire Atlas and Gazetteer published by DeLorme Publishing Company.
Note that the Antrim business district is located along Route 202 north of Depot Street, which presumably contains a convenience store as well as a restaurant. Unfortunately, the existence of these facilities was not specifically checked on July 15, 1998. Except for trail access at two grade crossings, no other trail facilities are evident in its immediate vicinity!
McCabe Forest Wildlife Demonstration Woodlot features a 1.5 mile nature trail within the 192 acres owned by the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. Complete information about this State Forest and its nature trails is provided in the book Nature Walks in Southern New Hampshire by Julia Older and Steve Sherman, published as a Nature Walks Book by the Appalachian Mountain Club.
Note that the park map in the book suggests that the park must be entered from Route 202. Other maps suggest that the only route to the park from the Rail-trail is via Depot Street to the Antrim settlement, then north via Route 202. Unfortunately, the spot-check of the trail conducted on July 15, 1998 did not note whether this high-traffic route has the paved breakdown lanes required for reasonable trail user safety!
