USGS Topographic map of Jeffersonville
The Cambridge Greenway Recreation Path (Rail Trail) is 1.5 miles long, beginning at All Seasons Home Helpers on Route 15 at Church St. in Jeffersonville. It runs alongside the Lamoille River to the Poland Covered Bridge, which is presently restricted to use by snowmobiles, horses and pedestrians. The path width varies from 9' to 13' and consists of hard-packed, crushed gravel. Last fall we extended the path the quarter mile to the bridge, filling an old railroad coal drop in the process. We received permission from the Agency of Transportation to remove 200 ft. of track for this project. In January we completed construction of an underpass at Bridge 21 on Vermont Route 108. The cement slab and gravel fill withstood the minor flooding of the Lamoille at the end of February.
Parking is available behind Jeffersonville Feed & Hardware on Route 15. There is also a commuter parking area beside Route 15, just east of Tatro Construction Company, which sits on the northeast corner of the intersection of Vt. Routes 108 and 15.
There is no charge for use of the trail. For bicycle sales and service, visit Foot of the Notch Bicycles on Church St. in Jeffersonville. Jana's Cupboard Deli, next door to Jeff Feed, sells made-to-order sandwiches, pastries and some groceries.
