USGS Topographic map of Olivarian
The railroad bed is intact on both sides of Olivarian, but it is closed to public use between Jeffers Hill Road and the Benton town line (approximately) by a landowner that reportedly owns both Pike School and the Olivarian Campground. The Connecticut River Snowmobile Club must have a bypass route for this gap in the trail since it is part of NH Corridor #5, but this portion of the trail may be open only during the snowmobile season.
Conversely, recent highway reconstruction at the former railroad grade crossing a short distance west of the intersection of Lime Kiln Road (East Haverhill) suggests the very clear intent to establish a trail on the old railroad bed.
The Olivarian Wildlife Preserve Campground is located on Route 25 just north of the site of Olivarian Depot. Its landholdings apparently include the Depot Site as well as the railroad bed from the Route 25 crossing to the Benton Town Line.
