Two sections of the railroad bed at Pike were destroyed as part of a highway construction project. The snowmobile club apparently has a bypass for the lost sections of the rail-trail, since it is part of NH Corridor #5.
A snowmobile bridge spans the river on the railroad bridge abutments adjacent to the sharp curve of Route 25 just east of Pike, and a short usable fragment of the Rail-trail continues east to Jeffers Hill Road. Note that this snowmobile bridge is obviously hazardous for hikers, bikers, and other summer trail users!
A usable section of the Rail-trail continues west from the top of a rather tall granite bridge abutment just west of Brushwood Road. That abutment is difficult to find during warm weather months by the surrounding trees. Because the bypass snowmobile trail may cross private property, the rail-trail may reach a dead end at the top of that high bridge abutment during the warm weather months!
The The Pike Post Office and a
convenience store are located adjacent to each other across Route 25 from the remains of the Pike
Manufacturing Company. It is possible that the adjacent Post
Office occupies the former railroad station, but this is not clear from the current
appearance of the building.
