USGS Topographic map of Westmoreland
Site of Westmoreland Station. Digital photograph by Kenyon F. Karl on September 12, 1998.
The remains of the station platform confirms the location of Westmoreland Station.
Spot checks made on July 6, 1998 suggests that the trail is open and usable south of Westmoreland Station. Except for a short distance north of Westmoreland Station, there is no evidence of trail usage north of this point!
Spot checking revealed that the railroad overpass is missing at at Wentworth Road and a highway overpass at Black Jack Crossing Road has been replaced by solid fill. Note however that it may be feasable to bypass the Black Jack Crossing underpass on a nearby town road. Also the railroad underpass of the busy Route 12 highway south of Halls Crossing Road is still open and thus may be still useable for trail purposes!
Limited Parking is available on the site of the Westmoreland Station.
No other trail facilities were visible in the vicinity of the trail!
