Trail pictures and narrative are arranged from south to north!

The trail crosses Route 119 a short distance between an informal exit to a shopping center and the Main Street Crossing (West Rindge). Trail users must use great care at this crossing because the high-speed traffic is not warned about the presence of trail users on the crossing!

West Rindge Depot. Digital picture by Kenyon F. Karl on July 15, 1998.

The private owner of the former West Rindge Depot has apparently blocked usage of the old railroad bed north of Main Street. Snowmobile trail signs indicate that a trail detour uses the length of nearby Goodall Street from the Main Street Crossing to an empty lot near its north end that allows trail users to gracefully return to the railroad bed.

'Street-legal' trail users can enter and exit the trail at the following points:

GroceriesParkingToiletsDrinking Water A shopping plaza with a major supermarket has been built on Route 202 a short distance south of Route 119 - with access to the trail that crosses behind the plaza. Toilets and water are presumably available within the supermarket upon request. Grocery store hours are 8 am to 9 pm on weekdays and Saturday, 8 am to 6 pm on Sunday. Ample parking for trail users is presumably available in the plaza parking lot, if trail users park at the extreme north end of the lot in a manner that does not interfere with customer parking or truck traffic to the rear of the plaza. Note that the current trail entrance is not suitable for disabled trail users because of a drainage ditch as well as a short but steep slope up to the surface of the truck road.

FoodToiletsDrinking Water A Pizza restaurant was noted on Route 119 a short distance west of the crossing. Toilets and water are presumably available upon request when the restaurant is open. The Webmaster did not note its hours of operation during the July 24, 2000 trail check. Note that Route 119 is a high-speed highway with paved shoulders.

Groceries A gas & convenience store was noted at the intersection of Routes 202 & 119 an eighth-mile east of the crossing. The Webmaster did not check its hours of operation or its offerings during the July 24, 2000 trail check, but it is likely that toilets and water are available upon request. Note that Route 119 is a high-speed highway with paved shoulders.

Parking Limited parking should be available along Main and Goodall streets in the West Rindge settlement if cars are parked in a manner that does not inconvenience the residents.
