Onaway Lake was presumably a rural train stop for the camps at the lake. Its precise location has not been confirmed. Note the slight difference between the spelling of the railroad stop and the name otherwise shown on current maps!

Oh, about the spelling of Onway Lake and Onaway station is that I think when riders took the train they referred to that station as On-the-way, Onaway. :-). Now I don't know that for sure but many residents here still call it On-the-way. [Ian MacMillan <[email protected]> August 07, 1998 10:07 AM]
Trail Culvert at Onway Lake Road. Digital picture by Kenyon F. Karl on August 5, 1998.
A trail culvert passes under Lake Onway Road. This culvert is about 7 feet high at its center. The Gorden A. Cammut Sr. Youth Recreation Area is adjacent to the road overpass. A rough trail (not ADA compliant) connects the Rail-trail to the road to the recreation area just beyond the gate.
